Roach Dynamos have had a walking football team since 2017. We play in the Greater Manchester Walking Football League based at Heywood sports Centre. The league has 4 divisions and a total of 21 different football clubs take part. The teams travel from the general Manchester area as well as places such as Wakefield, Preston, Chorley, Fleetwood, Blackpool and Bolton. The Greater Manchester Walking Football League runs in seasons, spring and autumn, with each season consisting of 4 monthly fixture dates.
Competition days are very well run with superb facilities and organisation. The standard of refereeing is excellent. The competitive attitude between the teams is as you would expect, respectful and friendly with plenty of banter off the pitch and determined competition on it.

Over 60s Walking Football Team
Autumn 2019 will be our fifth season, we have had moderate success, but the last couple of seasons have not been our best, seeing us slip from second division promotion hopefuls to fourth division players. A mixture of personal commitments and team changes have left us a little thin on the ground for players which impacts performance come match days.
We are looking to recruit new players (Male or female) for the autumn 2019 season. If you would like to try your hand feel free to join us for match practice on a Thursday 5-6pm at Heywood sports centre. All are welcome and any age can come and take part, grandad, dads and lads, or grandma, mums and daughters, all are welcome. The cost is £3.00 per session.

Over 65s Walking Football Team

Spring 2020 will hopefully see the formation of our over 65s team. We are looking to recruit new players, aged 65 and over to take part. As with the over 60s, match practice is on a Thursday evening 5-6pm at a cost of £3.00 pounds.
